Royal London Ireland appoints Ger Tyrrell to lead Pensions Technical Support
Royal London Ireland has announced the appointment of Ger Tyrrell as Pensions Technical Manager. Ger joins life and pensions provider Royal London Ireland with almost 15 years' experience in the pensions industry. In his new role within the company's Propositions Department, Ger will provide technical support across the Royal London Ireland business, while also working closely with Financial Brokers on pension and retirement planning matters. His responsibilities will include interpreting legislative and regulatory developments, providing technical guidance and supporting brokers on pension-related queries.
Prior to joining Royal London Ireland, Ger has almost 15 years industry experience most recently with Zurich Life, where he progressed from pensions administration into the company's Technical Services team, ultimately serving as a Pensions Technical Consultant, for the last 10 years. In that role, he provided technical guidance on pension legislation and retirement planning, supporting both brokers and colleagues on a broad range of pension-related matters.
Ger began his career in the industry with Capita Life & Pensions in 2011 before transferring to Zurich Life in 2014.
He is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and holds a Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning and Services from the Institute of Bankers. He also holds the Retirement Planning Advisor (RPA) and Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) designations from the Life Insurance Association and graduated from University College Dublin with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and History.
